AmTrust E&S Insurance Services, a member of the AmTrust group, seeks an AVP, Underwriting to lead a team of underwriters for Specialty Casualty. You will oversee E&S Primary Casualty and Supported Excess products within a designated region, guiding pricing, risk selection, and broker relationships.

You will provide leadership, coaching, and collaboration across teams, focusing on profitability, workflows, and training to enhance performance and efficiency in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Commercial Underwriting with emphasis on E&S Casualty.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Understanding of costs and expenses.
• Exceptional customer service with strong written and verbal communication.
• Determine acceptability of risk per guidelines and standards.
• Experience with wholesale brokerage community.
• Team‑oriented, thrives in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage E&S Primary Casualty and Supported Excess Products and book of business.
• Develop workflows and maximize automation.
• Implement procedures to increase profitability.
• Audit underwriters to identify training needs and procedural gaps.
• Assist underwriters with complex underwriting issues.
• Represent the Underwriting Department with key contacts.
• Develop new relationships with wholesale brokers.
• Train new staff as needed.
