Job summary

Varda Space Industries seeks a Senior Systems Engineer, Avionics, to lead the design, integration, and testing of avionics for the Winnebago Spaceship. You’ll ensure readiness for launch and reentry, collaborating with multiple engineering teams to resolve conflicting requirements and meet mission objectives.

You will drive hardware-in-the-loop testbeds, ground infrastructure, and testing standards while mentoring engineers and ensuring scalable, robust avionics solutions for space manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of system design, test planning, and validation experience.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with power supplies, modular DAQ systems, RTD and 4-20mA devices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to define scopes from concept to production.
• Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for vehicle avionics.
• Analyze architecture, mitigate faults, and support FDIR implementations.
• Create verification plans for avionics systems for flight and HITL hardware.
• Support mission operations as an Avionics specialist or system operator.
• Oversee integration of Winnebago avionics systems as primary contact.
• Design, build, and operate HITL testbeds to simulate spacecraft.
• Develop avionics ground infrastructure and test equipment.
• Mentor and train new engineers to foster continuous improvement.
