Job summary
Blue Origin is seeking an Electrical Harness Design Engineer within the Lunar Permanence unit to develop wiring interconnect diagrams and harness installations for spaceflight systems. You will work with Creo Cabling to create 3D routed harness data, and contribute to design verification, integration, and trade studies.
The role requires a BS in a technical field and 8+ years in aerospace harness design, with familiarity in IPC/WHMA-A-620A and NASA standards, and experience using Creo, Zuken,
Qualifications
- B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related subject area.
- 8+ years of experience designing wire harnesses for Aerospace.
- Familiarity with Creo, Zuken and Windchill.
- Understanding wire derating analyses.
- Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4.
- Strong electrical/mechanical design and 3-D CAD skills.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, and high-speed data.
- Select harness components, connectors, backshells, cables and wires.
- Create block/interconnect and wiring diagrams; 3D routed harness data in Creo Cabling.
- Produce harness detail and installation drawings from 3D data.
- Provide guidance for hardware installation and testing of cables/harnesses.
- Report on activity schedule and technical status; identify improvement opportunities.
