Job summary
Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Cable Harness Design Engineer to lead the design of electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, and high-speed data systems for spaceflight hardware. You will utilize Creo, Windchill, and Routed System Designer (RSD) to create 3D harness data and 2D installation drawings, while applying EMI/RFI considerations and derating analyses.
The role includes supporting assembly, testing, and ongoing improvements.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field
- 5+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry
- Experience with Creo and Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD)
- Understanding and application of wire derating analysis
- Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620A standards
- Strong electrical/mechanical design using 3-D CAD software
- U.S. citizenship or eligible status per regulations
Responsibilities
- Design electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signals
- Create harness detail and installation drawings from 3D harness data sets
- Develop harness support brackets and perform trade studies
- Support assembly and testing of cables and harnesses
- Provide technical guidance for hardware installation and cost/schedule efficiency improvements
