Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA seeks an Avionics Cable Harness Design Engineer to design electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, data, and high-speed signals for New Glenn avionics. You will create 3D harness data, select components, and ensure EMI/RFI compliance. This role requires a B.S.

in Mechanical or related field, 5+ years in aerospace wire harness design, experience with Creo, Windchill, and RSD, and U.S. citizenship or eligibility.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry.
• Experience with Creo and Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD).
• Understanding and application of wire derating analysis.
• Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4 harness standards.
• Strong electrical/mechanical design and 3-D CAD skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signals.
• Create 3D routed harness data files using Creo Cabling and Routed System Designer (RSD).
• Produce harness detail and installation drawings including 2D flat harness drawings.
• Provide technical guidance for hardware installation and support assembly/testing of cables and harnesses.
• Report activity schedule and technical status; identify cost and schedule improvements.
