Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Cedar Rapids to design and maintain computer hardware components for avionics systems. This onsite role requires strong circuit design, troubleshooting, and PCB guidance. You will contribute to design verification and continuous improvement within Collins CN&S.

Qualifications include STEM degree with 5+ years (or advanced degree with 3+ years) and U.S. Person status, with extensive hardware design experience and test equipment proficiency.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Must be U.S. Person - access to ITAR/EAR information or hardware is required.

Responsibilities

• Review and maintain awareness of obsolete parts on assigned products and provide resolutions.
• Design and analyze digital and analog circuits using schematic capture and performance simulation tools.
• Characterize digital and analog signals with oscillosopes and related test equipment.
• Design and analyze digital circuits including computer hardware components and their performance characteristics.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance for PCB layout.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment.
• Carry out validation and verification activities to ensure design specifications.
• Contribute to engineering estimates for moderate scope electrical design problems.
• Identify root causes from LRU defects trends and drive process improvements.
