Job summary

RTX, through its Collins Aerospace division, seeks an entry level Digital Hardware Design Engineer for the DCCN group in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on developing and sustaining rugged avionics hardware including computing modules and boards used in aircraft systems.

You will collaborate with Systems, Software, Mechanical, and Manufacturing teams, perform schematic capture, testing and verification across the hardware lifecycle, emphasizing high-speed digital design and thermal management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM by start date.
• Understanding of digital circuit design concepts.
• Familiarity with electronic circuit and multi-assembly system design.
• Desire to perform hands-on troubleshooting.
• Good communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to design, analyze, simulate and test Circuit Card Assemblies for Avionics Computers (Processors, FPGAs, Memory, high-speed interfaces).
• Operate lab equipment to perform integration testing on hardware designs.
• Work on schematic capture of digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs.
