Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join the DCCN directorate. You will design and analyze CCAs for avionics computers, lead lab integration and testing, and oversee PCB layout and manufacturing considerations onsite in Cedar Rapids.

The role emphasizes EMI control, thermal management, and collaboration with Systems, Software, and Manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree with 5+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and integration experience.
• Experience with Avionics I/O (Ethernet, ARINC 429, MIL-STD 1553, PCIe).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA) for Avionics Computers.
• Lead integration and testing of hardware designs in lab with various equipment.
• Schematic capture of digital/analog mixed signal designs.
• Oversight of PCB layout and manufacturability considerations.
• Design to Cost (DTC), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT).
• Mentoring and delegating tasks to junior engineers.
• Interface with cross-functional teams from concept to factory transition.
