Job summary

Blue Origin in the Lunar Permanence team seeks a Senior Avionics Systems Engineer to advance the Blue Moon landers and related infrastructure for crew and cargo transport to the lunar surface.

You will lead or contribute to C&DH architecture, requirements flow-down, verification planning, network design, and safety-critical system integration, mentoring teammates in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in a technical field such as Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer Science.
• 5+ years in full life cycle avionics development with requirements, design, integration, test and operations.
• Knowledge of systems engineering, integration processes, and safety-critical systems.
• Ability to define, decompose, and flow down requirements; strong hardware interfaces and IO understanding.
• Experience delivering complex C&DH or highly integrated avionics systems with multiple subsystems.
• Experience with Time Sensitive Networking or similar deterministic networks and with PTP, L2/3 networking.
• Understanding of electrical interfaces (Serial, Video, Ethernet, sensors) and network topologies.
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative, fast-paced work style.

Responsibilities

• Lead C&DH architecture trade studies, concept development, verification plans, and vehicle integration.
• Analyze and flow down requirements to lower-level specifications and interfaces.
• Create verification plans and coordinate with Integration and Test teams.
• Develop and manage network architecture for deterministic performance and budget adherence.
• Produce fault analyses and reliability analyses across the lifecycle.
• Prepare technical documents and participate in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
• Mentor teammates and perform peer reviews within avionics engineering.
