Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced avionics leader to develop and integrate avionics for the crewed lunar lander under the Human Landing System program. You will lead cross-functional studies, define interfaces, and guide systems engineering across requirements, design, and verification efforts.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in avionics, strong communication, and expertise with electrical interfaces and MBSE tools.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical subject area.
• 8+ years experience in avionics full life cycle development (requirements, design, integration, test, operations).
• Deep experience in integrating spacecraft subsystems - Avionics, Software, Structures, GNC, power system, etc.
• Strong ability to define and manage communication protocols.
• Familiar with electrical interfaces (Serial Bus, Video, Audio, Ethernet, Analog Sensors).
• Knowledge of systems engineering practices, integration processes, and mission/safety critical systems.
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to earn trust and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Act as the negotiator between stakeholders to optimize spacecraft design.
• Contribute to or lead avionics architecture studies, concept development, verification planning, vehicle integration, and operations support.
• Manage Avionics requirements development, definition, and maturity.
• Develop and manage Avionics physical, logical, and network ICDs.
• Develop and maintain data and communication budgets.
• Develop and maintain integrated electrical architecture diagrams.
• Coordinate constraints across disciplines
• Contribute to or lead change management.
• Coordinate sensor selection and end-to-end sensor error analysis.
• Identify, assess, and manage program risks.
• Tool development for maintaining vehicle electrical configuration and definition.
