Job summary

Jobtailor in Colorado seeks a qualified Aircraft Mechanic. You will inspect, repair, and maintain aircraft and components according to FAA regs, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and manuals, ensuring high availability and safety.

You will mentor junior mechanics, plan maintenance, and coordinate parts and supplies. Regular on-call shifts nights, weekends, and holidays apply, with travel as needed to support FAR 135 HEMS operations.

Qualifications

  • FAA A&P license must be active and in good standing.
  • Experience with FAR 135 HEMS operations is required.
  • Ability to read 337s, SBs and ADs and apply requirements.
  • RAMCO experience and avionics knowledge are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft inspections and repairs per procedures and regulations.
  • Plan maintenance to maximize aircraft availability.
  • Lead Mechanic in the Lead Mechanic's absence.
  • Verify part numbers against aviation documentation.
  • Complete maintenance records for regulatory compliance.
  • Order and track aviation parts and supplies.
  • Mentor mechanics and provide on-the-job training.
  • Provide on-call support during nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Advise Pilot in Command of maintenance issues affecting service.
  • Travel 100% of the time when required.

Job description

• Perform aircraft and component inspections and repairs according to maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, Federal Aviation Regulations, and applicable manuals
• Plan maintenance efficiently and effectively to maximize aircraft availability
• Serve as Lead Mechanic in the Lead Mechanic's absence
• Verify component and assembly part and serial numbers against maintenance documentation
• Complete aircraft maintenance documentation in regulatory and company compliance
• Request aviation parts and supplies and maintain an adequate, orderly inventory
• Participate in the continuous improvement phase of the company Safety Management System
• Maintain a clean and professional work area
• Advise the Pilot in Command of maintenance issues that would take an aircraft out of service
• Correct compliance or safety issues as directed by company leadership
• Validate or confirm aircraft Status Report data
• Mentor mechanics and provide on-the-job training
• Troubleshoot and provide telephone and on-site problem solving to outlying mechanics
• Provide timely on-call availability during nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary
• Perform other assigned duties

Requirements
  • Must live in the North Central Region: Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota, Utah, Wisconsin, or Wyoming
  • Five (5) years’ related experience
  • Active/current FAA A&P license required and in good standing
  • FAR 135 HEMS operations experience required
  • Experience on AS350, EC130, EC135, Bell 407, or Bell 429 aircraft
  • RAMCO experience
  • Knowledge of avionics
  • Electrical troubleshooting and refined vibration-balancing skills
  • Sheet metal and composite repair procedures
  • Ability to read and understand 337s, Service Bulletins, ADs, and similar documents
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to work as a team player with a professional attitude
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
  • Factory airframe/power plant schools preferred
  • Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing requirements
  • Regular scheduled attendance required
  • Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time
