Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic in Louisville to perform maintenance, repairs, inspections and alterations on EC130/EC145 aircraft under licensed A&P supervision. You will assist in engine and airframe work, test systems, and maintain compliance with FAA regulations.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, strong problem-solving, and willingness to travel for Part 135 operations. Training toward full FAA A&P certification is expected within 12 months from Part 147 school.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 years related experience or training.
  • Two years of trade/vo-tech school preferred or currently enrolled for A&P certification within 12 months of Part 147 school.
  • Must be self-motivated with ability to analyze complex systems and problems.
  • Familiarity with FARs Parts 39, 43, 65, 91 & 135.
  • Proficient with hand tools used in aircraft inspections, repairs and alterations.
  • Knowledge of basic aircraft maintenance and composites is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • A&P license in good standing or tracking to full certification within 12 months from Part 147 school.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations of EC130 and EC145 aircraft as assigned.
  • Assist in repairing, modifying, and inspecting engines, components, and airframes under licensed A&P supervision.
  • Assist in testing repaired aircraft systems for proper performance.
  • Maintain Ground Support Equipment and maintenance tooling under A&P direction.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturers’ recommendations, and company standards.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for work activities per regulations and company policy.
  • Enter detailed maintenance records into paperwork orders and AMMIS.
  • Provide periodic travel in support of Part 135 operations.

Job description

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations of Company-operated EC130 and EC145 aircraft and articles as assigned
  • Assist in repairing, modifying, and inspecting engines, components, and airframes under the direction of a licensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic
  • Assist in testing repaired aircraft systems for proper performance
  • Clean, maintain, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on Ground Support Equipment and maintenance tooling under the direction of a licensed A&P mechanic
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturers’ recommendations, and Air Methods’ standards
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to work activities according to regulations and Company policies
  • Enter detailed maintenance records into paperwork orders and AMMIS
  • Provide periodic travel in support of Part 135 operations and company objectives
  • Progress toward full FAA A&P certification and a Part 135 field base maintenance position
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Completion of two years of trade or vocational school (or equivalent work experience) preferred, or currently enrolled and tracking to receive full A&P certification within 12 months from a Part 147 school
  • Must be self-motivated and able to process complex systems and logically think through problems
  • Basic working knowledge of FARs Parts 39, 43, 65, 91 & 135
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools applicable to aircraft inspections, repairs and alterations
  • Knowledge of basic aircraft maintenance and basic understanding of composite structures and repairs
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Airframe and power plant license in good standing, or enrolled and tracking to receive full A&P certification within 12 months from a Part 147 school
  • Must provide timely on-call availability during nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary
  • Regular scheduled attendance
  • Must live within an hour of the base
  • Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing requirements
  • Ability to work as a team player with a professional attitude
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to prioritize
