Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics Certification.
  • Minimum five (5) years or more of diversified aircraft and engine maintenance and repairs preferred.
  • Knowledge of aircraft, accessories, components, fasteners, and other hardware.
  • Experience with 135, 121 and 145 operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily direction and oversight to the production department alongside the Shop Manager.
  • Administer ongoing aircraft repair and maintenance activity.
  • Work closely with the Shop Manager, Manager of Technical Services, Chief Inspector, and internal staff.
  • Mentor mechanic staff, enforce policies, and optimize production.
  • Manage contract and direct-hire maintenance technicians and in-work aircraft.
  • Ensure assigned and trained personnel understand customer requirements.
  • Review aircraft work scopes and ensure required parts are provided through purchasing.
  • Plan maintenance activities to minimize aircraft downtime and balance workload.
  • Plan and schedule special project work.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Inspector and General Manager on airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and engineering changes.
  • Compile, issue, review, and update work documents for aircraft and component work.
  • Schedule aircraft and components for maintenance with customers and vendors.
  • Ensure aircraft are maintained according to customer policies, procedures, and applicable CFRs.
  • Request recurrent, remedial, and additional training for maintenance personnel.
  • Evaluate and recommend inspection and maintenance process changes.
  • Approve technician timecards and audit Repair Station regular and overtime hours.
  • Ensure accurate written shift turnover between AMT supervisors.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Shop Manager

Requirements


  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics Certification

  • Minimum five (5) years or more of diversified aircraft and engine maintenance and repairs preferred

  • Knowledge of aircraft, accessories, components, fasteners, and other hardware

  • Knowledge and experience with ATR, Embraer EMB-120, EMB-135/145, Fairchild SA226/227, Saab SF340A/B, S2000, or Beechcraft King Air preferred but not required

  • Engine run and taxi qualifications on the aircraft maintained by Worldwide Aircraft Services

  • Experience in 135, 121 and 145 operations

  • RII recognition training

  • EWIS training

  • Human Factors training

  • Repair Station Manual training

  • Ability to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, and forklift

  • Ability to work in extreme noise and handle dirty parts and lubricants
