Job summary

Jobtailor in Louisville is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations on company-operated aircraft. You will assist licensed A&P mechanics and work on EC130 and EC145 aircraft at the Louisville location, while progressing toward full FAA A&P certification.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 1–3 years of related experience, or equivalent training, and knowledge of FARs 39, 43, 65, 91, and 135.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 1–3 years related experience.
  • Trade/vocational schooling completed preferred or enroute to A&P certification within 12 months.
  • A&P license in good standing or enrolled to receive full A&P certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations of aircraft.
  • Assist in repairing, modifying, and inspecting engines, components, and airframes under supervision.
  • Assist in testing repaired aircraft systems for proper performance.
  • Assist with cleaning, maintaining, lubricating, and performing routine maintenance on ground support equipment under supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturers’ recommendations, and company standards.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to work activities in accordance with regulations and company policies.
  • Enter detailed maintenance records into paperwork orders and AMMIS.
  • Work on EC130 and EC145 aircraft at the Louisville location.
  • Progress toward full FAA A&P certification and/or qualifying experience for a Part 135 field-base maintenance position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations of company-operated aircraft and articles as assigned
  • Assist in repairing, modifying, and inspecting engines, components, and airframes under the direction of a licensed A&P mechanic
  • Assist in testing repaired aircraft systems for proper performance
  • Assist with cleaning, maintaining, lubricating, and performing routine maintenance on ground support equipment and maintenance tooling under the direction of a licensed A&P mechanic
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturers’ recommendations, and Air Methods’ standards
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to work activities in accordance with regulations and company policies
  • Enter detailed maintenance records into paperwork orders and AMMIS
  • Work on EC130 and EC145 aircraft at the Louisville location
  • Progress toward full FAA A&P certification and/or qualifying experience for a Part 135 field-base maintenance position
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • No supervisory responsibilities
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED and one to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Completion of two years of trade or vocational school (or equivalent work experience) preferred, or currently enrolled and tracking to receive full A&P certification within 12 months from a Part 147 school
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license in good standing, or enrolled and tracking to receive full A&P certification within 12 months from a Part 147 school
  • Basic working knowledge of FARs Parts 39, 43, 65, 91, and 135
  • Proficiency using hand tools for aircraft inspections, repairs, and alterations
  • Knowledge of basic aircraft maintenance and basic understanding of composite structures and repairs
  • Ability to process complex systems and logically think through problems
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, able to prioritize, and have a professional attitude
  • Timely on-call availability during nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary
  • Regular scheduled attendance
  • Must live within an hour of the base
  • Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing requirements
  • Periodic travel in support of Part 135 operations and company objectives

Demonstrates proficiency in aircraft maintenance, repairs, and inspections, with a focus on compliance with FAA regulations and documentation standards. Possesses a foundational understanding of aircraft systems and components, along with the ability to work effectively under the guidance of licensed A&P mechanics.
