Motional seeks engineers to join the AV Behavior Design and Evaluation team, bridging software development and field deployment. You will help define, measure, and validate AV behavior with data-driven methods, build large-scale evaluation systems, and advance simulation workflows for safer autonomous driving.

The role emphasizes collaboration across Systems, Autonomy, Safety, and Operations, with an opportunity for a hybrid schedule including in-office time in Pittsburgh or fully remote

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science OR equivalent experience in relevant industry.
• Fluency in SQL or similar languages and data visualization techniques.
• Experience building Python-based data analysis projects and working with robotics/AV data is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Propose behavioral expectations on AV capabilities.
• Support standardization of metrics used in performance evaluation for AV capabilities to ensure consistency.
• Analyze simulation and real-world data for robotic systems and AVs.
• Develop and communicate strategic insights and recommendations on scenario-based testing.
• Create visualizations and templates to support team analyses.
• Automate result analysis processes and reduce manual steps where possible.
• Contribute to test strategy development for features validation and verification.
• Present test results to development teams and management to drive resolutions.
