Job summary

Minth North America, Inc. in Wixom, MI is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead design, qualification, and implementation of automated assembly equipment.

The role requires diagnosing tooling and process issues, preparing RFQs, and communicating technical details to suppliers. Responsibilities include installing, commissioning, and maintaining robotic systems, developing SOPs, performing root-cause analysis, and managing automation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, automation, electrical engineering, or related field.
• More than five years of experience in manufacturing automation management.
• Proficiency in Office and CAD software; strong mechanical/electrical design skills.
• Familiarity with TPM principles and maintenance of equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure with strong cross-cultural communication.
• Bilingual - Mandarin and English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain robotic systems for optimal performance.
• Develop SOPs for robotic equipment and promote standardized practices.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions; train personnel.
• Manage automation projects, including path programming, and coordinate with suppliers.
• Identify safety defects and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee local technical team training.
• Ensure TPM and equipment maintenance programs are followed.
