Job summary

Delta ModTech is seeking a Senior Technical Operations Manager to lead project management and technician teams through the full lifecycle of custom automation projects. You will bridge engineering, production and supply chain to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with top-tier quality.

Key responsibilities include developing leaders, managing multiple projects, optimizing labor and materials, and driving continuous improvement with a strong focus on safety and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of experience in custom machinery design and build, or automation environments.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, with at least 1-3 years in a supervisory role.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical project-based teams.
• P&L responsibilities, ensuring project deliverable and financial goals are met.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex, low-volume, engineer-to-order projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical assembly, industrial controls, and automation systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Project Managers and Technicians to deliver complex custom machinery on time and within budget.
• Oversee multiple concurrent automation projects, managing scope, schedule and cost.
• Forecast labor needs and support hiring decisions for project demands.
• Ensure builds meet engineering intent and company quality standards.
• Drive standardization of build practices, documentation and quality controls.
• Partner with Engineering to improve design-for-assembly and manufacturability.
• Participate in customer meetings to support technical execution and installation planning.
• Uphold Delta ModTech values and drive a culture of safety and accountability.
