Job summary

AccuScan Sciences in Milpitas, CA is seeking an Automation Engineer III to lead advanced automation of nucleic acid extraction workflows and molecular assays. You will shape strategy, optimize platforms, and collaborate with Labs to align automation with biology goals.

You will expertly operate and improve Tecan, Beckman, and PerkinElmer systems, develop liquid handling methods, manage software configurations, troubleshoot live runs, and document SOPs and protocols to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or related field.
• Minimum eight years of relevant experience in biotechnology automation.
• Proven leadership and communication skills for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Leads strategic planning and execution of automated processes with labs.
• Operates and optimizes automation platforms (Tecan, Beckman, PerkinElmer).
• Designs and implements advanced liquid handling strategies.
• Manages software configuration and advanced automation methods.
• Troubleshoots complex hardware/software issues during live runs.
