Job summary

LGC Biosearch Technologies is seeking an Automation Engineer for a 12-month contract at their Petaluma site. You will design, implement, and sustain automation solutions across formulation, DNA synthesis, and manufacturing data systems.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, OT, IT, and vendors to deliver compliant, scalable automation that improves data integrity and throughput. Essential duties include developing automation scripts, supporting liquid handling workflows (Tecan, Lynx,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in automation engineering or related with 1+ year automation experience
Proficient in C# and Python for instrument control and workflow automation
Hands-on experience with liquid handling systems or manufacturing automation
Experience configuring MES/LIMS workflows and data capture systems
Familiarity with GMP/ISO and quality-controlled environments

Responsibilities

Develop and configure automated liquid handling workflows on production equipment
Create, modify, and test automation scripts for workflows and data processing
Support DNA synthesis automation and workflow integration with tracking systems
Configure MES and LIMS workflows for traceability and batch status visibility
Design and improve scheduling and batching automation to reduce manual steps
Perform testing, validation, and readiness activities with cross-functional teams
Prepare documentation including work instructions and validation deliverables
Collaborate with vendors to resolve automation issues and ensure reliability
