Job summary

Natera, Inc. is seeking a Senior Automation Support Engineer to design, implement, and support automated systems for sample processing in R&D and clinical diagnostics labs.

The role collaborates with RUO to optimize performance of liquid handlers and related workflows. You will troubleshoot, qualify, and maintain instruments like Hamilton STAR, Vantage, and Beckman Biomek I7, while documenting procedures and supporting multiple projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Biomedical engineering or closely related field; MS preferred.
• 5+ years of laboratory automation engineering experience.
• Technical proficiency in automation and systems development for life sciences; robotics and liquid handling experience.
• Experience in programming or basic understanding of method writing.
• Flexible to respond to RUO shift times (M-F 7am-3pm or 9am-5pm).

Responsibilities

• Support liquid handling robots and troubleshooting/qualification procedures.
• Build knowledge on hardware and software for multiple automated liquid handlers.
• Coordinate with end-users and cross-functional teams.
• Prepare documentation for equipment qualification, operation, and maintenance.
• Perform routine maintenance on liquid handling equipment.
• Prepare user requirements, testing procedures, SOPs, and related docs.
• Oversee IQ/OQ/PQ validation testing of automated lab equipment.
• Provide user training and ongoing end-user support.
