Job summary

Atkore International Group Inc. in Harvey, IL seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to support manufacturing and drive continuous improvement across plant automation.

You will design automation, SCADA systems, and process controls for production, reporting to the Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering and 7–10 years in a similar environment, with experience in steel roll forming and proficiency in Rockwell PLC programming, AutoCAD, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; 7–10 years of Process/Manufacturing Engineering experience in an industrial environment.
• Experience with steel roll forming and processing is highly desired.
• Lean manufacturing background preferred.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Drive and support productivity improvements and best practices across the business.
• Lead project efforts, provide schedules and documentation for improvements and new equipment.
• Assist manufacturing in Lean Manufacturing and process improvement projects.
• Provide bid and costing details on electrical projects; manage deadlines with Gantt charts.
• Draft schematics and documentation for trades groups; develop troubleshooting guidelines.
• Implement and expand SCADA systems and oversee continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain plant electrical infrastructure and ensure safety code compliance.
• Guide E-Techs and electricians in troubleshooting and problem solving.
