Job summary

Baker Group in Louisville, KY is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead startup, checkout and programming for Building Automation and Manufacturing Control Systems. You will support client relationships and drive QA/QC.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and 7+ years in automation, with experience in PLC, DDC, SCADA, IP networking, and IEC 61131-3 languages. Travel to job sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of automation related field and engineering experience.
• Knowledge of Ethernet and serial network communication formats and hardware configurations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL or other database applications preferred.
• Understanding of basic process controls (e.g. PID control loops, motor control, commissioning of digital and analog measurement devices).
• Knowledge of construction site safety and a high awareness of surroundings.

Responsibilities

• Start-up, checkout and programming of control systems.
• Configure and debug PLC and DDC components.
• Set up sensors, actuators, and field devices.
• Programming and modification of control software and sequences.
• Configure IP networks and switch settings.
• Develop SCADA graphics and dashboards linking to graphics.
• Map control points and set alarms/history.
• Support QA/QC and commissioning logs.
• Interpret SOO and apply to logic.
• Travel to job sites as required.
