Job summary

Baker Group is seeking a Sr. Automation Engineer in Ankeny, IA to lead start-up, checkout and programming for Building Automation and Manufacturing Control Systems. You will manage medium to large projects, mentor Automation Technicians and Engineers, and collaborate with project managers to ensure successful delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering or equivalent, 7+ years in automation, and travel to job sites. Proficiency with PLCs, SCADA, and network configurations is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of Automation related field and engineering experience.
• Knowledge of Ethernet and serial network communication formats and hardware configurations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL or other database applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Start-up of Microprocessor based control components including PLC and DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, transducers, and associated components.
• Point-to-point checkout of wiring and components for proper grounding, polarity, communication and power.
• Set up and calibration of input and output devices such as temperature sensors, pressure transducers, etc.
• Uploading, downloading, and modification of control software and programs.
• MAP/Network configurations and ICs setup for Stratix and Cisco switches.
