Job summary

Baker Group is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead start-up, checkout and programming for Building Automation and Manufacturing Control Systems. You will design and troubleshoot complex HVAC and electrical automation, map control points, and create SCADA graphics while coordinating with project teams.

The role requires 7+ years in automation, a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, and strong PLC/IEC 61131-3 coding skills. Some travel to job sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field.
• 7+ years of automation related field and engineering experience.
• Knowledge of Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of SQL or similar databases preferred.
• Knowledge of Ethernet and serial network configurations.
• Understanding of basic process controls (PID, motor control).
• Safety awareness on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Start-up of PLC and DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, and related components.
• Check wiring and components for grounding, polarity, and power.
• Calibrate sensors and devices; upload/download control programs.
• Configure IP networks and switch configurations.
• Create and troubleshoot automation networks and SCADA graphics.
• Read SOO and apply to logic; write IEC 61131-3 code.
• Lead and mentor Automation Technicians and Engineers.
• Travel to job sites as required.
