Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to develop automation across infrastructure and platforms. You will design, implement, and maintain Ansible-based solutions, create Python tools, and build RESTful APIs to orchestrate workflows. The role emphasizes secure coding, CI/CD practices, and collaboration within Agile teams.

The position is remote with responsibilities spanning enterprise environments and banking-regulated contexts where applicable.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Pre-employment credit check as required by the customer.
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience, or equivalent levels.
• 8+ years infra automation experience with Ansible/Ansible Tower/AWX.
• RHCE or equivalent certification; ARIA/vRealize automation experience.
• Strong Linux/Windows admin background and secure coding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Automate high priority tasks and end-to-end workflows across infrastructure and operations.
• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation using Ansible for complex environments.
• Lead full software development lifecycle for automation projects from requirements to deployment.
• Create advanced automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Develop RESTful APIs using FastAPI/Flask to orchestrate automation workflows.
• Build IaC with CI/CD pipelines, version control, testing, and governance.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scaled Agile teams and ensure security compliance.
• Document solutions, runbooks, and knowledge base articles; provide on-call support.
