Peraton is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer (Ansible/ARIA) to design, develop, and maintain automation for complex, secure enterprise environments. You will automate high-priority tasks across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations and build end-to-end automation using Ansible, Python, and RESTful APIs.

You will work remotely, collaborating in Agile/SAFe teams, ensure secure coding practices, and contribute to automation governance and standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen required with the ability to obtain and maintain required Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years experience, Associate's degree plus 10+ years, or High School diploma with 12+ years experience.
• 8+ years infrastructure automation experience with Ansible/Ansible Tower/AWX.
• Red Hat Certified Engineer or equivalent certification.
• Hands-on experience with ARIA/vRealize automation.
• Deep Linux and Windows Server administration background with automation provisioning workflows.
• Proven experience developing Ansible playbooks, roles, modules and workflows for complex environments.
• Advanced Python, Bash, or PowerShell automation skills.
• Experience building RESTful APIs (FastAPI, Flask) and diverse integration patterns.
• Version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing experience.
• Experience in Agile/Scaled Agile environments.
• Knowledge of secure coding standards in banking environments (plus)

Responsabilités

• Work in multiple service automation engagements to automate high-priority tasks, services and end-to-end workflows across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations.
• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation solutions using Ansible (playbooks, roles, modules, workflows) for complex, secure enterprise environments.
• Execute full software development lifecycle for automation projects from requirements through deployment, maintenance, support and hand-over.
• Create advanced automation scripts using Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell for complex business requirements and build custom tools to improve operations.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using FastAPI or Flask to orchestrate automation workflows and integration patterns across enterprise systems.
• Build and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with CI/CD, version control and automated testing.
• Collaborate in Agile/SAFe with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated automation solutions.
• Ensure secure coding practices and compliance with enterprise security policies and banking regulations where applicable.
• Document solutions, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
• Provide technical support for automations, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in on-call rotation.
• Stay current with emerging automation technologies and contribute to governance frameworks.

About The Role

Peraton is seeking an Ansible/ARIA Senior Automation Engineer who will be accountable for developing automations and enabling self-service of infrastructure engagements system wide.

What You Will Do

• Work in multiple service automation engagements to automate the high priority tasks, services and end to end workflows across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations
• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation solutions using Ansible (playbooks, roles, modules, and workflows) for complex, secure enterprise environments
• Execute the full software development lifecycle for automation projects, from requirements gathering through deployment, maintenance, support and hand-over
• Create advanced automation scripts using Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell to address complex business requirements and develop custom tools that enhance operational efficiency
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using modern frameworks (FastAPI, Flask) to orchestrate automation workflows and implement integration patterns that connect diverse enterprise systems
• Build and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with CI/CD pipelines, version control best practices, and automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality and reliability
• Collaborate within Agile and Scaled Agile frameworks with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, security, and service teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Implement secure coding practices and ensure all automation solutions comply with enterprise security policies and banking regulations where applicable
• Document solutions, create runbooks, and maintain knowledge base articles
• Provide technical support for automations, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in on-call rotation as needed
• Stay current with emerging automation technologies and contribute to automation standards, best practices, and governance frameworks
• Other duties assigned as necessary

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen required with the ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust level clearance
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment credit check as required by the Customer.
• Bachelors Degree and 8 years of experience, an Associates Degree 10 years of experience, or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years of experience
• 8+ years of infrastructure automation experience with Ansible/Ansible Tower/AWX
• Red Hat Certified Engineer or equivalent certification
• Hands-on experience working with ARIA/vRealize automation
• Deep Linux and Windows Server administration background with experience automating and decommissioning/provisioning workflows
• Proven experience developing Ansible playbooks, roles, modules and workflows for complex and secure enterprise environments
• Advanced skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for custom automation solutions
• Expertise in building RESTful APIs using modern frameworks (FastAPI, Flask) and implementing diverse integration patterns to trigger and orchestrate automation workflows
• Proficiency in version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks
• Working experience in Agile and Scaled Agile environments
• Knowledge of secure coding standards and banking environment is a plus

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
