Job summary

Peraton is seeking an Ansible/ARIA Senior Automation Engineer to develop and enable automation across enterprise infrastructure. You will work on high-priority tasks, design end-to-end automation with Ansible, and drive RESTful API integrations to orchestrate complex workflows.

Remote role in the United States; requires U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance. Strong background in Linux/Windows admin, Python, and Agile practices is essential.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or Associate with 10+ years, or HS diploma with 12+ years.
• 8+ years infrastructure automation experience with Ansible/Tower/AWX.
• RHCE or equivalent certification.
• Hands-on with ARIA/vRealize automation.
• Strong Linux and Windows Server administration with automation workflows.
• Experience developing Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules.
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Experience building RESTful APIs with FastAPI/Flask.
• Version control, CI/CD, and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience in Agile and Scaled Agile environments.
• Knowledge of secure coding standards; banking environment a plus.

Responsibilities

• Automate high-priority tasks across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations.
• Design and maintain end-to-end automation solutions with Ansible.
• Lead full SDLC for automation projects from requirements through deployment.
• Develop Python/Bash/PowerShell tools for complex requirements.
• Create RESTful APIs using FastAPI/Flask to orchestrate workflows.
• Build IaC with CI/CD pipelines and version control practices.
• Collaborate in Agile/SAFe environments with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure automation complies with security policies and banking regs.
• Document solutions, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
• Provide production support and participate in on-call rotation.

Basic Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen required with the ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust level clearance


• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment credit check as required by the Customer.


• Bachelors Degree and 8 years of experience, an Associates Degree 10 years of experience, or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years of experience


• 8+ years of infrastructure automation experience with Ansible/Ansible Tower/AWX


• Red Hat Certified Engineer or equivalent certification


• Hands-on experience working with ARIA/vRealize automation


• Deep Linux and Windows Server administration background with experience automating and decommissioning/provisioning workflows


• Proven experience developing Absible playbooks, roles, modules and workflows for complex and secure enterprise environments


• Advanced skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for custom automation solutions


• Expertise in building RESTful APIs using modern frameworks (FastAPI, Flask) and implementing diverse integration patterns to trigger and orchestrate automation workflows


• Proficiency in version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks


• Working experience in Agile and Scaled Agile environments

Peraton is seeking an Ansible/ARIA Senior Automation Engineer whowill be accountable for developing automations and enabling self-service of infrastructure engagements system wide.

Work Location: This is a remote position

What You Will Do:

• Work in multiple service automation engagements to automate the high priority tasks, services and end to end workflows across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations


• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation solutions using Ansible (playbooks, roles, modules, and workflows) for complex, secure enterprise environments


• Execute the full software development lifecycle for automation projects, from requirements gathering through deployment, maintenance, support and hand-over


• Create advanced automation scripts using Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell to address complex business requirements and develop custom tools that enhance operational efficiency


• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using modern frameworks (FastAPI, Flask) to orchestrate automation workflows and implement integration patterns that connect diverse enterprise systems


• Build and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with CI/CD pipelines, version control best practices, and automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality and reliability


• Collaborate within Agile and Scaled Agile frameworks with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, security, and service teams to deliver integrated solutions


• Implement secure coding practices and ensure all automation solutions comply with enterprise security policies and banking regulations where applicable


• Document solutions, create runbooks, and maintain knowledge base articles


• Provide technical support for automations, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in on-call rotation as needed


• Stay current with emerging automation technologies and contribute to automation standards, best practices, and governance frameworks
