Job summary

SpaceX is hiring an Automation & Controls Engineer, Solar (Starlink) in Redmond, WA. You will join a cross-disciplinary team to develop the next generation Starlink solar array and the production system that creates it.

You’ll design and implement automation projects, write PLC code, and improve factory performance using data-driven methods. Relevant experience with PLCs, vision systems, and electrical schematics is expected; safety and compliance are paramount.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field is required.
• 1+ years of experience in automation and controls for manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics, vision, and data tools is preferred.
• Ability to design and commission complex electrical and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and implement automation projects from ideation to production use.
• Architect, write, and debug PLC code; integrate vision systems.
• Design interfaces and panels; ensure safety and compliance in control systems.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency with data-driven approaches.
• Collaborate across teams and create maintainable control solutions.
