Job summary

Magna International is seeking an Automation Engineer to support and optimize automotive automation systems. You will program PLCs, develop HMI/SCADA interfaces, and maintain FANUC and KUKA robots across production lines.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechatronics/Automation and 5+ years in automation, with strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration. On-site role with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience programming HMI/SCADA systems and Ignition preferred.
• Robotics programming with FANUC/KUKA experience needed.
• Minimum 2 years programming PLCs, Allen-Bradley preferred.
• Knowledge of Safety PLCs and area scanners is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for automation and robotics.
• Program and optimize PLCs and control systems to improve uptime and quality.
• Lead or support automation capital projects and system commissioning.
• Deliver training to operations and maintenance staff on safety and interfaces.
• Document designs, schematics, and back-ups for projects.
