Job summary
Atlas Copco Group in Auburn Hills, MI, is seeking a Controls Engineer - Automation Specialist to design, program, and install automated solutions for the Application Center North America. You will collaborate with mechanical engineering, project management and production to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics or equivalent, 5+ years of experience, PLC/HMI programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens),
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in related field
- Experience with PLC/HMI programming and robotics integration
- Ability to read electrical and pneumatic drawings
- Willingness to travel ~30% within the US
Responsibilities
- Design, program, commission and install automated solutions for the North America Application Center
- Collaborate with project management, mechanical engineering and production to meet budgets and deadlines
- Perform on-site field checks and assist with installation and commissioning at customer sites
- Support sales and product teams in development of new concepts and cost-related issues
- Ensure compliance with machine safety standards and automation best practices
- Learn cobot integration and various control architectures
