Job summary
Atlas Copco North America LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer - Automation Specialist to design, program, commission, and install automated solutions from the Application Center North America. You will work with mechanical engineering, project management, and production to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
You will also program and debug systems during assembly and assist with field installation and commissioning at customer sites, gaining experience with cobot integration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics or equivalent on-the-job experience (5+ years).
- Electrical & pneumatic CAD design and documentation for Atlas Copco projects.
- Programming PLCs and HMIs (Atlas Copco, Allen Bradley, Siemens).
- Experience programming and integrating robots into light assembly cells.
- Test & Debug of projects before shipment.
- Experience developing PLC logic and HMIs from scratch.
- Approximately 30% travel within the US for typical installations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Automation project team across PM, Controls, Mechanical Engineering and design.
- Perform on-site field checks of existing equipment.
- Program and debug Atlas Copco control systems and PLCs/HMIs.
- Support field installation technicians remotely as required.
- Ensure adherence to customer specifications and project budgets.
