Job summary
Corning in Wilmington, NC seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to design, implement, and support advanced automation systems in manufacturing environments. You will drive safety, quality, and efficiency by delivering robust control solutions.
Lead capital projects, mentor engineers and technicians, and set technical direction using Beckhoff TwinCAT, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and related platforms. Some travel within North Carolina is expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation engineering or closely related field.
- 4+ years in controls, automation, or manufacturing engineering.
- Hands-on PLC/HMI/SCADA programming for industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, implementation, and support of PLC, HMI, SCADA, motion, vision, and safety systems.
- Serve as controls technical lead for capital projects, upgrades, retrofits, and commissioning.
- Develop and maintain control software and architectures (Beckhoff/TwinCAT, AB).
- Mentor engineers and technicians; drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and OEE.
