Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of related professional experience handling auto and casualty claims.
• Understanding of general legal concepts and insurance policies.
• Strong interpersonal and public relations skills; excellent communication.
• Ability to interpret exclusions and endorsements and identify coverage issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a workload of litigated and non-litigated auto/casualty claims.
• Investigate coverage, gather information, issue determinations, and consult counsel as needed.
• Adjust assigned claims per policies, laws, and authority; coordinate with independent adjusters.
• Make independent decisions with limited supervision using coding and regulatory knowledge.
• For litigated claims, assign defense counsel and monitor strategy toward settlement or judgment.
• Prepare and present claim recommendations to upper management.
• Identify sources of recovery and subrogation; handle mediations or trials when appropriate.
• Coordinate with SIU to prevent false or inflated claims and ensure file accuracy.
• Keep insureds updated; maintain timely, professional communication.
