Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking experienced auto body technicians for our Commerce, Abilene, TX location. This role requires 4-5 years of collision repair experience and offers opportunities to work with a wide range of repair tasks from body work to glass replacement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair.
• Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
• Thorough understanding of methods to repair vehicle bodies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers.
• Uses cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents, dimples, and minor body damage; applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Replaces damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts.
• Replaces or repairs glass and windshields as needed.
• Replaces or repairs interior parts as needed.
• Welds and attaches or fits parts; prepares and repaints vehicles.
• Attempts to complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
• Inspects vehicles after repair to ensure quality.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
