Crash Champions in Schererville, IN is seeking a skilled Body Technician to examine damaged vehicles and guide repair processes. You will work with a team to perform quality repairs, assess repair vs replacement, and maintain on-time status while following safety guidelines.

Competitive compensation is posted between $65,000 and $168,300 per year with a commission/flag rate structure, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401k with match, referral bonus

Qualifications

• Frame machine experience required.
• Certification in body repair preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
• I-CAR welding certification.
• Ability to analyze and interpret measuring data.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel.
• Must be able to pass thorough background check.

Responsibilities

• Examine damaged vehicle and plan repair process.
• Communicate repair status with team.
• Perform quality repairs while maintaining on-time status.
• Decide repair vs. replacement based on safety, cost, and cycle time.
• Remove upholstery and related components to access areas.
• Attend required safety meetings.
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using tools.
• Direct apprentice work and explain procedures when needed.
