Job summary

Mercury Insurance Company is seeking an Auto Appraiser Sr to travel within CA to inspect and evaluate vehicle damage for auto claims. You will estimate repair costs, determine market values, and negotiate settlements with repair facilities.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, documentation, and ongoing industry knowledge. The position is in-person across the Bay Area and requires up-to-date knowledge of vehicle values and repair estimation practices, with the ability to work

Qualifications

• 2 years auto appraising experience.
• Knowledge of current vehicle values and repair estimating practices.
• Ability to read and understand frame and alignment specifications.
• License to handle claims may be required to be secured upon hire.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures equitable settlement of damages and maintains good customer service and shop relations.
• Inspects and evaluates degree of physical damage to vehicles for first and third-party claims; completes detailed summary of damage and estimates repair cost.
• Presents estimates and negotiates settlements with repair facilities; researches total cash value of vehicle and parts to support settlements.
• Takes photographs of vehicles and damages; submits compliant reports and documents; performs re-inspections and authorizes supplemental repairs as needed.
• Maintains communication with clients; explains procedures, responds to inquiries; provides timely customer service.
