PNM Resources, Inc. is seeking an Auditor (Level I / Senior) to perform and lead financial, operational, compliance, IT, and investigative audits across the organization. You will evaluate internal controls and regulatory compliance to support risk management and efficiency.

Under general direction, you will partner with management to identify risks, recommend improvements, monitor corrective actions, and present findings to stakeholders, ensuring adherence to GAAP, SOX, and NERC standards.

• Develop and document audit programs, testing methodologies, work papers, and audit procedures in accordance with professional auditing standards.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, business processes, and operational practices.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, conduct, and/or lead financial, operational, compliance, regulatory, information technology, and investigative audits.
• Manage audit engagements through all phases, including planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, reporting, and follow‑up.
• Develop and document audit programs, testing methodologies, work papers, and audit procedures in accordance with professional auditing standards.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, business processes, and operational practices.
• Review company activities and records to ensure compliance with company policies, management objectives, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assess compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including GAAP, FERC, Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX), NERC, and other applicable requirements.
• Analyze data and business processes to identify control deficiencies, inefficiencies, duplicate efforts, waste, fraud, abuse, or non‑compliance risks.
• Utilize audit software, data analytics tools, and technology solutions to evaluate large datasets and identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks.
• Conduct fraud investigations and special studies as requested by management.
• Prepare clear, detailed audit reports outlining findings, conclusions, risks, and actionable recommendations.
• Present audit results and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
• Monitor management action plans and corrective actions to ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Partner with management to identify process improvements, cost‑saving opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
• Participate in enterprise risk assessments and assist in the development of annual audit plans.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to less experienced auditors as assigned.
• Perform quality reviews of audit work papers and reports when appropriate.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships through professionalism, objectivity, and sound judgment.
