Job summary

PNM is seeking an Auditor (Level I / Senior) to join our TX/NM operations. You will conduct and lead audits across financial, regulatory, IT, and operational domains, ensuring internal controls and regulatory compliance are robust.

A strong credit background check is required given the financial nature of this role. Ideal candidates will have experience with GAAP, SOX, NERC, and data analytics tools (Power BI, SQL, Python).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 4+ years auditing, accounting, finance, or compliance experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• CPA / CIA / CISA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and lead audits across financial, operational, regulatory, IT, and investigative areas.
• Manage audit engagements through all phases: planning, fieldwork, reporting, follow-up.
• Develop and document audit programs, testing methodologies, and procedures.
• Evaluate internal controls and regulatory compliance against GAAP, SOX, NERC and other requirements.
• Prepare audit reports with findings, conclusions, risks, and recommendations.
• Present audit results to management and monitor corrective actions.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and ensure quality of work papers.
