Job summary

State of Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Senior Auditor in Augusta. The role involves leading audits, mentoring staff, and coordinating with the State Auditor and Controller’s Office to ensure timely responses to inquiries.

The candidate should have CPA/CIA/CISA or an MBA with related auditing experience and be comfortable working in a supervisory, independent capacity. The position offers partial telework with management approval and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• CPA/CIA/CISA certification required or MBA with accounting/audit experience
• Bachelor degree with three years auditing experience or equivalent government experience
• Ten years of progressive accounting/auditing experience as an alternative pathway
• Experience with GAAP, Uniform Guidance and MAAP regulations is valued

Responsibilities

• Monitor audits of Department programs on the Internal Audit team
• Assist with timely responses to inquiries and audit processes
• Provide supervision and technical guidance to audit staff
• Assist in annual planning and work program development for audit oversight
