Job summary

Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in Augusta, ME seeks a Senior Auditor to join the Internal Audit team. You will monitor audits, coordinate with the State Auditor, and apply GAAP and auditing standards to high-level supervisory work.

• Ability to research laws, regulations, and accounting issues and advise management.
• Experience reviewing audit work papers and supervising junior staff.
• Strong communication and MS Office skills.
• Organized self-starter with analytical problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor audits of the Department's programs.
• Coordinate with State Auditor and Controller's Office for timely responses.
• Apply GAAP and auditing standards to professional audit work at a supervisory level.
• Mentor and supervise audit staff and review staff work.
• Assist in annual planning and scheduling the Division's audit oversight.
• Be detail-oriented, independent, and proactive in daily tasks.
