Job summary

Withum is seeking an Audit Supervisor to lead engagements from planning through completion in a hybrid role based in Houston, TX. You will supervise staff, mentor junior team members, and cultivate strong client relationships while ensuring high-quality audit work across various industries.

You will oversee planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusions, coordinating with partners and staff to deliver timely, accurate results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA license or working towards CPA certification with parts passed is required.
• At least 3 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to provide world-class client service.
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and the conclusion.
• Providing supervision and support to the engagement staff, seniors and supervisors and promote open communication to the engagement partner.
• Collaborating with engagement team seniors or supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement.
• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines.
• Creating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies; conduct discussions with team members on their evaluations and provide guidance.
• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader
