Job summary

Smart Start is seeking an experienced, business-minded, and self-motivated Senior Attorney to be based in its Grapevine, Texas location.

Reporting to the General Counsel, this attorney will serve as a trusted legal advisor to business leaders and cross-functional teams, providing legal advice across a wide variety of matters with primary responsibility for all employment law matters, compensation and benefits, litigation, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor with active bar admission in the U.S.
• 6+ years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house.
• Strong knowledge of international, federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Ability to manage litigation, investigations, and outside counsel.
• Excellent communication with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment law advisory across US, Canada, Australia, and Europe.
• Review compensation and benefit plan documents and related policies.
• Counsel HR and business leaders to identify and mitigate legal risks.
• Lead litigation, arbitrations, and internal investigations.
• Design and implement compliant policies, training, and programs.
