SmartRecruiters, Inc. seeks an experienced U.S. Employment Counsel to provide day-to-day guidance on federal, state, and local employment laws, and to lead immigration and cross-border mobility initiatives.

You will manage disputes, investigations, and negotiations of employment documents while partnering with HR and management across jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have a JD, U.S. bar admission, 5–10 years of employment law experience, and a track record advising multinational

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• 5–10 years of post-qualification experience in employment law.
• Significant experience advising employers on U.S. employment law matters.
• Experience handling employment disputes and workplace investigations.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal support regarding U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Advise management and HR on hiring, onboarding, performance, discipline, and investigations.
• Counsel on ADA, FMLA, wage/hour, classification, anti-discrimination, and harassment issues.
• Lead employment-based immigration programs and cross-border mobility planning.
• Manage employment litigation, agency matters, investigations, and budgets.
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, handbooks, and related documents.
