Job summary

HBK is seeking an experienced audit professional in Towson, MD, to lead engagements with strong technical and client interaction skills. The role requires supervising teams, evaluating controls, and delivering precise financial statements and tax workpapers.

Candidates should have 8+ years in public accounting, CPA designation, and solid knowledge of accounting/auditing software, with excellent communication and time-management abilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of public accounting experience.
• Ability to research and resolve complex accounting issues.
• Planning and supervising audit and large review engagements.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills; able to interact with all staff and clients.
• Experience with employee benefit plans and/or Single Audits is a plus.
• Competent working knowledge of accounting and auditing software.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills; work with all levels of staff and clients.
• CPA designation required.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of all assigned engagements including staffing, planning and scheduling with the Principal.
• Study and evaluate internal controls and prepare the work program and time budget for approval by a Principal.
• Support training of team members and provide guidance on papers.
• Review significant engagement findings with the Principal.
• Prepare or review financial statements, notes, schedules, management letters, and tax returns.
• Prepare engagement evaluations for supervised team members and discuss with them.
