Job summary

CLA is seeking an Assurance Manager or Director to lead assurance and audit engagements for financial institution clients, delivering high-quality services while acting as a trusted advisor to drive engagement quality and client satisfaction.

This role can be based in Indianapolis, St. Louis, or Dallas, with responsibility for planning, supervising teams, managing budgets and timelines, mentoring staff, and contributing to business development and client relationships.

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant experience required.
• Experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm, driving strategic management preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• CPA required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit and assurance engagements from planning through completion.
• Serve as a primary client contact, providing proactive guidance and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Oversee engagement budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Review audit plans, internal control assessments, and engagement deliverables.
• Mentor, coach, and develop team members through ongoing feedback and professional development.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention of top talent.
• Contribute to business development efforts by strengthening existing client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
• Deliver operational excellence while ensuring profitable engagement execution and an exceptional client experience.
