Job summary

CLA is seeking an Assurance Manager or Director to lead audit engagements for financial institution clients within our Financial Services Group. This role can be based in Indianapolis, St.

Louis, or Dallas, with responsibility for delivering high‑quality audit, review, and compilation services while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. You will supervise planning through completion, oversee budgets and timelines, review engagement deliverables, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant experience required.
• Experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• CPA credential is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit and assurance engagements from planning through completion.
• Serve as a primary client contact, providing proactive guidance and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Oversee engagement budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Review audit plans, internal control assessments, and engagement deliverables.
• Mentor, coach, and develop team members through ongoing feedback and professional development.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention of top talent.
• Contribute to business development by strengthening existing client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
• Deliver operational excellence while ensuring profitable engagement execution and exceptional client experience.
