Job summary

CRI, formerly CapinCrouse, is seeking a qualified accountant/auditor to join its nonprofit practice. The role involves diverse accounting and auditing assignments, client engagement planning, and GAAP knowledge. CPA eligibility required with preference for CPA certification, and a minimum of 3 years in public accounting. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diversified accounting and auditing assignments under supervision.
  • Participates in planning and scheduling client engagements.
  • Prepares and indexes working papers; performs GAAP procedures.
  • Develops understanding of GAAP, other bases of accounting, and financial statement presentation.
  • Understands auditing standards and procedures.
  • Communicates with clients to obtain information with minimal disruption.

Essential Functions:
  • Performs diversified accounting and auditing assignments under the direction of supervisor and manager
  • Participates in planning and scheduling client engagements
  • Prepares and indexes working papers; performs various procedures established under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to verify accuracy and validity of client’s financial matters
  • Begins to develop a command of GAAP, other comprehensive bases of accounting, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentations
  • Obtains a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques
  • Effectively communicates with client to receive information necessary to complete the engagement with a minimum of disruption to client

The anticipated hiring base salary for this role is: $76,000 - $105,000.

Actual compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to education, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
