Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Redmond, WA, is seeking an analytical scientist to support MS instruments and perform data collection for biotherapeutic characterization. Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Support and maintain analytical instrumentation, including mass spectrometers.
  • Collect data for mass spectrometry-based characterization of biotherapeutics.
  • Collaborate on technology development to reduce the cost and improve efficiency, speed, and quality of analytical methods.
  • Support project work and present findings in cross-functional team meetings.
  • Manage laboratory inventory and organization.
Qualifications (required):
  • Hands-on bench experience in a research setting.
  • Experience with analytical techniques and instrumentation, including method development in Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (as applicable).
  • Protein characterization experience and understanding of protein chemistry fundamentals.
  • Ability to work in a fast, collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field and 2+ years relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Orbitrap and TOF mass spectrometers.
  • Experience with mass spectrometry software: Protein Metrics, Xcalibur, Freestyle, and MassLynx.
Benefits/compensation (as stated):
  • Base pay range: $83,000–$87,000; additional rewards include discretionary annual bonus, Medical/Dental/Vision, short- and long-term disability, basic life insurance, 401k match, flexible work, paid time off and paid holidays, wellness and transportation benefits.
