Job summary

Qualifications

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry is required.
  • Demonstrable experience with mass spectrometry-based proteomics.
  • High-resolution LC/MS experience is very important.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sample preparation and analysis.
  • Operate Orbitrap mass spectrometers and micro/nanoflow chromatographs.
  • Perform data analysis and reporting for proteomics/metabolomics experiments.
  • Contribute to development of novel proteomic/metabolomic methods.
  • Implement and test new proteomic/metabolomic techniques.
  • Assist with instrument maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain and update written operative procedures and experimental protocols.
  • Help maintain commonly used equipment and resolve minor equipment problems.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Perform sample preparation and analysis;
  • Operate Orbitrap mass spectrometers and micro/nanoflow chromatographers;
  • Perform data analysis and reporting for proteomics and/or metabolomic experiments;
  • Contribute to development of novel methods;
  • Implement and test new proteomic and metabolomic techniques;

  • Help maintaining commonly used equipment and resolve minor equipment problems.

Willingness to be an active member of the CSHL scientific community, and to constantly learn and explore new topics and approaches are paramount. The ability to positively interact with other group members while being individually productive is also required.

Position Requirements

PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field is required. Demonstrable experience with mass spectrometry-based proteomics, high-resolution LC/MS is very important.
