A leading provider of professional services seeks a PE Independence Senior Associate to manage risk regarding independence requirements. This fully remote role involves evaluating independence requests, maintaining client data, and delivering training. Ideal candidates will have 2-3+ years in public assurance accounting and strong organizational skills.

The PE Independence Senior Associate assists in managing risk to the Firm regarding independence requirements of regulatory bodies, including the Securities Exchange Commission, Public Accounting Oversight Board, and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The position is part of the National Office of Ethics and Independence team, supporting engagement teams with compliance, policy development, initial independence consultations, and monitoring support for complex client structures. Relocation is not required. This role is fully remote. Preference for candidates in the Central or Eastern time zones.
Perform initial assessment of independence requests from engagement teams, evaluating applicable rules and complexity.
Develop knowledge of independence rules and stay updated.
Maintain affiliate trees for private equity clients in the entity management system, gathering data from structure charts and public resources.
Assist in developing and delivering independence training, tools, and guidance.
Contribute to other projects within the National Office of Risk Management as needed.
2-3+ years’ experience in public assurance accounting.
Basic understanding of regulatory controls impacting business conditions.
Proactive approach to adding value and seeking guidance.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Ability to adapt to regulatory and industry changes.
Positive response to changing circumstances and drive for business improvement.
Collaborative work style with team members and engagement teams.
Proactive in feedback exchange.
Experience with independence considerations in professional practice or a National Office role.
Experience working with Private Equity clients.
Ability to escalate issues appropriately.

Salary range: $77,700 - $147,400. Compensation includes a discretionary bonus based on performance.
